Tomorrow is the day I’ll be on my way to the United Arab Emirates and hitting the clubs in Abu Dhabi. I’ll probably leave my jacket at home, because the weather forecast promises bright sunshine all day with temperatures of about 41° C. I like the sound of that.
My direct flight to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) with Etihad Airways leaves on Wednesday afternoon from Zurich Airport (ZRH). I will stay at the Hyatt Capital Gate in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and I’m already looking forward to exploring the most intentionally inclined tower in the world. In the hotel’s restaurants three tastings are already on my agenda, one of which will be – you guessed it – a currywurst.
I have planned quite a lot again. I will definitely spend a day on the sightseeing bus to explore the sprawling city. On the other days I will most likely use taxis and local buses, because they are much more flexible. I’ve already worked out a rough plan, but this would be my first trip on which there are no surprises. For the view from above, I will go to the observation deck at 300 in the Etihad Towers and take a few pictures from the observation tower of the Marina Mall. I hope the gentlemen have cleaned the windows so that I can take good ones. In addition, I intend on trying the legendary camel burger at Emirates Palace, since I did not get to do that on my last visit. If I have enough time, there is also a sailing trip and an evening trip on a catamaran. The beach life of course can’t be neglected, although I will significantly reduce visits there due to the heat. After all, there is a beautifully cool hotel pool available.
I will most likely skip the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the AbuDhabi Falcon Hospital, because I already visited them on my last trip. Although I’ll certainly take photos of the former from the outside again, because the sightseeing bus stops at both the mosque and the Falcon Hospital.
